For current classification, film capacitors can be divided into DC film capacitors and AC film capacitors. The base film of DC film capacitor is mainly composed of polyester, which is mainly used in the field of weak electricity; the base film of AC film capacitor is mainly made of polypropylene, mainly used in the field of high voltage.

According to the classification of film materials, the film materials used for film capacitors mainly include polyester, polypropylene, polyphenylene sulfide, polycarbonate, etc., of which the first two categories account for the majority.

2. Industry Status and Market Capacity of Electronic Films for Film Capacitors in China

The main raw materials of film capacitors are electronic film, metal material, resin material, lead and lead material, and housing material, of which electronic film accounts for about 70% of the total cost of all raw materials. Therefore, the industry trend and market capacity of film capacitors directly determine the development of the electronic film industry.

Global film capacitors sold 62 billion units in 2008, and their production is mainly concentrated in the United States, Europe, China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and other regions. With the rapid development of China's economy and China's procurement in the world, in 2008, China's film capacitor production reached 25.9 billion, accounting for 42% of the global market's total output, ranking first in the world.

3. Industry competition

Basic situation of industry competition

A international market competition pattern

At present, the capacitor manufacturers for the international market are concentrated in Germany, Japan, and the United States. Companies represented by the German Creations Ltd., the French Pololai Group and the Japanese Toray Co., Ltd. occupy the majority of the international market.

B Domestic market competition

Basic situation

The manufacture of electronic film for domestic capacitors started in the early 1980s. The initial market for capacitor film was basically monopolized by foreign companies represented by Germany's Chuangpu Co., Ltd., France's Pololai Group and Japan Toray Co., Ltd.

At the end of the 1980s, with the introduction of the film production line of Jiangmen Xinhui Capacitor Film Factory (now “Jiangmen Runtian Industrial Investment Co., Ltd.”), the domestic “four-field five-line” competition pattern was formed, and the overall production capacity was 6,000 tons / year, the product specifications are mainly based on thickness of 8μm or more, ultra-thin film and high-end and high-end products mainly rely on imports.

In the 1990s, with the rapid development of the domestic information industry, household appliances, consumer electronics industry and the country's increasing investment in power infrastructure, the film capacitor industry began to show explosive growth, and has already issued electronic film for domestic capacitors. The second investment boom has now formed the basic pattern of 18 production lines of 9 enterprises. The comprehensive production capacity is about 37,000 tons/year, and the product quality and technology research and development capabilities have been greatly improved.

At present, domestic enterprises represented by the company have surpassed foreign companies in terms of product quality and technical level, and have begun to export to foreign countries in batches while meeting the demand for technical quality in the domestic high-end market.

With the development of electronic film material production technology and the development of ultra-thin, the application field of film capacitors has been continuously expanded, and it is applied to the fields of capacitors for hybrid vehicles, energy-saving lamp capacitors, and wind power capacitors. At present, the proportion of film capacitors in the entire capacitor industry is about 7~8%. With the continuous expansion of the application range, the market growth space is very broad. As the core dielectric material of film capacitors, the electronic film industry for capacitors also shows a rapid growth trend.

In the past 15 years, the demand for polypropylene electronic film for domestic capacitors has grown from 6,000 tons/year to the current 42,000 tons/year, with a compound annual growth rate of 14.91%, of which domestic demand in 2006 was 37,000 tons. It reached 44,000 tons. In 2008, domestic demand fell slightly to 42,000 tons due to the international financial crisis. According to the industry analysis report of China Electronic Component Industry Association, during the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, the compound growth rate of polypropylene electronic film for domestic capacitors exceeded 15%.

2. The development trend of industry competition

In the future, the market competition of China's capacitor film industry will shift from product line expansion to strengthening of core business and brand promotion. In terms of product development, ultra-thin, high temperature, safety and reliability will become the main development trend. The proportion of high-end products in all products will increase year by year. In terms of service, simple mass production will develop in small batch and customized direction. In terms of capital operation, the development of the national economy has led to the expansion of the whole industry, and the integration within the industry will be further accelerated.
